Program Description
In this 1-hour workshop you learn about emotional intelligence - what it is and why it’s essential for today’s fast-paced and complex organizations. This condensed program provides a preview to understanding the knowledge and skills necessary to practice EQ. The 4 building blocks of EQ provides the foundation necessary to practice the skills and highlights the reasons why self-awareness is essential to personal growth. The program highlights approaches to interpreting and understanding your emotional states.

Presenter Bio
Maryanne Elliott coaches leaders who want breakthrough results through more effective conversations, relationships and communication strategies. Her deep expertise with interpersonal and team dynamics provides clients a proven process needed to make change and get results.
Coaching and Consulting Experience
Maryanne has coached hundreds of executives, emerging leaders and entrepreneurs, working both with individuals and teams. Her focus includes productivity, teamwork, culture, change, and leadership. She is a formally trained leadership coach from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, and certified by Priority Management Systems to deliver the full curriculum of Working Smart – a global solution to setting priorities, communicating effectively and increasing productivity. She also holds several certifications in assessment tools by leading global providers.
Business/Organizational Leadership Experience
Maryanne started her career in banking as a retail and then commercial banker, and then transitioned to Omega Performance, an international consulting company focused on creating high performing sales and service culture. Next, she bought a business, Priority Management, and worked across a multitude of industries to improve productivity. Most recently, she launched her own leader development and coaching business, The Acorn Group, to assist teams and leaders to improve their effectiveness and interpersonal dynamics of their team.
Education and Training
Maryanne earned a B.A. from Furman University, a Master in Business Administration from the University of Louisville, completed a program in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University. She is a PCC certified coach by the International Coach Federation and is currently pursuing her doctorate at The George Washington University. Her research interests include adult learning, transformational development, and emotions and topics related to sustaining deep change within individuals and teams.
