Oct 11: Adding Value to Your Training Program

Speaker: Chris Isaacs

RSVP at the IUS-SHRM Site

Program Description: In Human Resource Management, training is a highly complex and ever-evolving field of study. A great deal of time and energy is spent by a firm understanding what its training needs are. This is done to adequately train its new employees, and to give it a competitive advantage in the marketplace. This should, in theory, add to the overall success of the firm. We will discuss how some firms develop new hire training programs and examine the importance firms place on developing training programs. The discussion will focus heavily on my case study into the theories and practices behind employee training and how that data has shaped my understanding of the topic. The goal of this presentation is to demonstrate how employers can add value to their own training programs, thereby increasing productivity and retention.
